Howdy!
I'm a senior at Vanderbilt University, where I study business, computer science, and the communications of science and technology. Currently, I'm away from my home in Nashville and enjoying a semester abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, where street cafés are aplenty and chair design is taken much more seriously.
I am a curious, self-driven designer who is exhilarated by designs that challenge the status quo and who loves reimagining the nature of established, everyday experiences. I am always eager to learn something new and hear a human story.
Words that guide my design philosophy
"Be a disturber, not a designer" - Hiroshi Fujiwara, Japanese 'godfather of streetwear'
"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" - Leonardo da Vinci, 16th century Italian Renaissance man
When I let my hair down . . .
I love to hike in new locations, make home movies, and scour Pinterest for new runway looks to remake with my sewing machine. I love films that make you think, oxymorons, and drinking everything out of mugs.
I am currently on a mission to read through the entire body of Asian-American literature. Right now, I am reading Min Jin Lee's Pachincko and watching the adapted TV series of the same name as well as other Kogonada works.
